'By adding sand, we hope to improve drainage and soil structure, with the result that, after a few years of working the ground with the TopChanger, a higher proportion of healthy grasses will survive.'
‘Initially, we used the machine in both spring and autumn. We applied around 60 cubic metres of sand to 20 greens. That sand is now firmly embedded in the soil; you’d never get it in there any other way. Our greens are now significantly better.’
‘At the time, the board proposed renovating the greens. The quality was actually good, but the drainage and structure could have been better. After getting in touch, we trialled the TopChanger and decided to purchase the machine.’
'Of course, there’s a price tag attached. But if you have to lay new greens to achieve higher quality, that costs a great deal of money too. We can’t do without the TopChanger now.' Greenkeeper René Deelen
